Chicago, IL (PRWEB) November 08, 2012
The National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA), the only Association comprised of NBA, ABA and Harlem Globetrotters alumni, today announced a new member program with GotProHealth – a group focused on complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Complementary medicine includes modalities such as integrative medicine, acupuncture, massage therapy, herbal medicine, chiropractic and naturopathic medicine.
As part of this new program, GotProHealth will educate players and their families on the use of complementary and natural medicine. GotProHealth has developed a national network of qualified and licensed professionals in the field of complementary medicine so that former NBA, ABA and Harlem Globetrotters players will have access to premier practitioners around the country. GotProHealth recently launched a similar program with the NFL Players Association.
“Health and wellness is a priority for our members and their families,” said NBRPA CEO Arnie D. Fielkow. “Joining forces with GotProHealth was a natural partnership for our Association, as members look to become better educated about treatments for various health issues. Our members and their families will also benefit by having access to GotProHealth’s national network of reputable practitioners.”
The National Institutes of Health report that a significant percentage of Americans are now using some form of complementary medicine. In the United States, individuals and organizations alike are embracing the concept of wellness and preventative care. GotProHealth's website and national network is also available to the general public. For more information, visit http://www.GotProHealth.com.
“As professional athletes, we push our bodies to extreme limits,” said former NFL running back Ken Jenkins, President of GotProHealth. “Our ongoing health and injury related issues require the insight of highly skilled practitioners. GotProHealth’s mission is to make those exceptional practitioners readily available to the athletes, their families, and to the general public.”
