The Lensic presents FUSION Theatre Company’s Freud’s Last Session, November 16 and 17, 2012. The play is the second in an exciting new partnership between The Lensic and FUSION, in which the Albuquerque-based professional theater company will perform a Santa Fe season on the Lensic stage. This event is featured on Santa Fe’s premier on-line magazine and visitor guide, SantaFe.com.

Freud’s Last Session, by nationally acclaimed playwright Mark St. Germain (Camping with Henry and Tom, The God Committee), imagines a meeting between two great 20th-century thinkers: father of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud and writer and academic C. S. Lewis (The Chronicles of Narnia, Mere Christianity). The play focuses on a fictional evening on the eve of World War II, when Freud invites Lewis to his London home and the two discuss faith, love, sex and the meaning of life. The wit, weaknesses and strengths of both men are revealed in the provocative conversation, which takes place just weeks before Freud chooses to take his own life.

Directed by FUSION cofounder Jacqueline Reid, the production stars stage and television actor Gregory Wagrowski as Sigmund Freud and Santa Fe resident Scott Harrison as C.S. Lewis. Harrison has performed with local companies including Theaterwork, Theater Grottesco and Ironweed Productions, which he founded in 2005.
