Corrections company stands out as recruiter and supporter of America's veterans

Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), America's leader in partnership corrections, has once again been recognized by G.I. Jobs magazine as being a top military-friendly employer. Ranked 40th on the magazine's annual "Top 100 Military-Friendly Employers" list, CCA is recognized as a company that exceedingly embraces America's military veterans, National Guard and Reserve members as employees.

This marks the sixth year that G.I. Jobs magazine has distinguished CCA as a leading company for service members interested in transitioning into a civilian career. CCA employs 1,600 individuals – fully 10 percent of its workforce – who have military backgrounds. To supplement its military hiring efforts, CCA made several recruiting trips to military bases and transition centers across the nation this year. The company also partnered with the Tennessee Department of Labor to host Paycheck for Patriots, a statewide hiring event targeted toward former and transitioning military members.

In addition to recruitment activities, G.I. Jobs has also recognized CCA for its policies surrounding Reserve and National Guard members called to active duty, veteran promotional programs and community involvement.

"Our focus on military members and veterans extends well beyond our hiring efforts,” says Carnaggio. “We are thankful for these heroes and honor their service throughout the year.”

A few examples of the company’s dedication include an annual company-wide Veterans Day celebration, featuring ceremonies for veterans on staff and the company’s semi-annual care package program called Patriot Packages which are sent to employees and their loved ones who are serving overseas.
