Following an article published by NewsFix on the shocking number of tanning bed related skin care cases, Likewise Skincare releases a statement on the recent news.

On November 13, 2012, oily skin moisturizer company Likewise Skincare releases a statement regarding the shocking news of 170,000 skin cancer cases being linked to indoor tanning beds.

According to an article from NewsFix, a UC San Francisco study showed that “indoor tanning every year causes 170,000 cases of non-melanoma skin cancer. Those most at risk, people under 25, are most likely the people who are most drawn to it because they want to look good.”

According to Dr. Valencia Thomas of UT Health Dermatology, “Before, we thought tanning beds were the same as the sun, or no worse than the sun, but now we`re finding that the tanning beds more efficiently cause skin cancer.” The article stated that non-melanoma related skin cancer is showing up in spots doctors have never seen before as a result of tanning beds.

Likewise Skincare understands the consequences of harmful UV rays and how they can be avoided. According to Lisa Shariat, representative of oily skin moisturizer manufacturer Likewise Skincare, “This is a shocking discovery. As most people know UV rays are harmful to your skin, but the fact that tanning beds are more efficient cancer causers than the sun, is simply alarming.”

Likewise Skincare was founded by board certified dermatologist and President of Likewise, Inc., Dr. Julie Pena. Likewise daily moisturizers are all-in-one but not one-fits-all.
