Women Veterans Interactive will be hosting a Women Veterans and Women in the Military Empowerment and Unification Celebration and Lunch Cruise at the National Harbor in Maryland on Veterans Day, November 11, 2012.
Women Veterans Interactive (WVI) http://www.womenveteransinteractive.org is a national not for profit organization under the direction of Navy Veteran, Founder and CEO Ginger Miller. Miller started the organization to meet all women veterans at their points of need with a vision to become the expert on Women Veterans issues, eradicating homelessness; improving healthcare and education delivery; and developing a network where there is a free exchange of experiences and solutions.” WVI spearheads a pioneering, interactive approach with a clearly-defined mission of "Supporting Women Veterans through Advocacy, Empowerment, Interaction, Outreach and Unification (AEIOU)."
A Women Veterans Interactive Empowerment and Unification Lunch Cruise includes a "A Tribute to Women Veterans” to give women veterans the significant laud that they deserve. Afterwards, we board the cruise to have peer-to-peer interaction and receive information on support services to include health care alternatives, education and employment. There will be raffles, makeovers, food, fun, more.
The VIP Reception and Ceremony is sponsored by MGM Resorts International and it kicks off at 9:00 a.m. at Foster's at National Harbor, the Veterans Day Ceremony starts at 10:15 a.m. Sponsors for the lunch cruise include AARP, IFLAS LLC,SA-TECH, and OWEN Software. Boarding on the Spirit of Washington will start at 11:30 at the National Harbor and cruise time is from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
The Keynote Speaker for the event is former Navy Intelligence Officer and President & CEO of Lanmark Technology, Inc., Ms. Lani Hay. Other speakers include Ms. Barbara Ward Director of the Center for Minority Veterans U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Yolanda Moore 2x WNBA Champion and Author of "You Will Win If You Don't Quit, and Brigadier General Belinda Pinckney U.S. Army Retired.
