“The volunteers running and participating in PTAs and HSAs are vital to the quality of our children’s education and umojawa’s Ovation Award draws important attention to the great work of these organizations and the people that run them.”
Maplewood, NJ (PRWEB) November 08, 2012
umojawa, a new online community encouraging social change and civic engagement, and rewarding organizations for their work that benefits others, announces that YouGiveGoods and educational games and books specialist Magic Town have signed on as sponsors for its first annual Ovation™ Award in Education to recognize outstanding performance in projects initiated by parent/teacher organizations (PTA/PTO) to benefit their schools. The sponsors will serve as Ovation Award Featured Partner and Perk Partner, respectively.
The Ovation Award honors teams that demonstrate best practices in volunteerism, with projects that show strength in team leadership and management, innovative approaches, and successful solutions applied in school systems nationwide. Keeping true to its core mission of using social media for social good, umojawa will share all submitted projects, and crowdsourcing will be an essential part of the judging process along with judging by the umojawa board.
“We are thrilled to have Magic Town and YouGiveGoods join us in our effort to honor these unsung heroes for their dedication to the youth, our country’s future,” said Stephanie Jelley, chief executive officer, umojawa. “The philosophy of the sponsors is aligned with umojawa’s dedication to American education.”
“Education is critical in these ever-changing times in which we live,” stated YouGiveGoods Co-founder Patrick O’Neil. “The volunteers running and participating in PTAs and HSAs are vital to the quality of our children’s education and umojawa’s Ovation Award draws important attention to the great work of these organizations and the people that run them.”
“Education is extremely important to us, and we are delighted to sponsor an award program that both benefits children and honors those volunteers who spend countless hours raising funds and awareness on their behalf,” said Christian Dorffer, chief commercial officer and co-founder of Magic Town.
