Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) November 07, 2012
The 22nd Annual WRC-NAPGCM Conference took place Thursday, November 1st through Saturday, November 3rd at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel and Spa in Santa Rosa. Home Care Assistance, North America’s leading provider of in-home care for seniors, was proud to show their support for Western Region Geriatric Care Management by sponsoring the event. This conference allowed Geriatric Care Managers to develop their skills, make connections and further their knowledge about best practices in care.
“Home Care Assistance is proud to support the Western Chapter of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. For a single conference to encompass this body of knowledge is remarkable. The breakout sessions I attended were the best learning experiences I've had in quite some time,” said Kathy Johnson, Founder and CEO for Home Care Assistance.
This year’s conference featured informative speakers and exhibitors as well as breakout sessions to discuss business, legal and ethical topics. Featured speakers included Frederic Luskin, PhD, who presented on enhancing health, Nader Robert Shabahangi, PhD, on re-establishing the role of eldership and Gordon Lithgow, PhD, on the effects of genetic and pharmacological manipulation on stress resistance. The thirteen breakout sessions offered addressed a variety of topics, including the use of technology to improve caregiving efficiency, tools to assist in preventing re-hospitalization and the local community’s role in protecting vulnerable adults. Home Care Assistance supported the event by distributing educational resources, including copies of their award-winning books, Happy to 102, The Handbook for Live-In Care, From Hospital to Home Care, and The Five Senses.
