The Other Twilight Movie: Indie Parody or Hollywood Scandal?

On November 16, Breaking Dawn Part 2 will have Twilight fans lining up nationwide. But few of them will realize that there was another Twilight that was never released – Mahvrick Productions gets the inside scoop on a movie killed by Hollywood that is now coming back to haunt them.

Keith Black is the Susan Boyle of film making. He is a middle-aged New York City based teacher that makes award winning indie movies in between grading papers that have featured Oscar winners. "Black has recently come forward claiming to have written, directed, and starred in Shmoikel's Twilight. Shmoikel's Twilight was shot in 2007, a full year before any of the Twilight Saga movies even went into production," says Richard Victor Mahee, of Mahvrick Productions.

Black insists that his movie was mysteriously shut down and that he has leaked studio footage to prove it. A documentary about Shmoikel's Twilight, featuring the found footage will be released to coincide with the Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 2 debut, according to Mahvrick Productions. Indie parody, or Hollywood scandal?

In his version, says Black, the Twilight novels are reinterpreted as a Jewish allegory centered around Shmoikel, a Jewish vampire from New York City. Shmoikel’s Twilight stands apart from the generic Twilight parodies cluttering the Web. Black brilliantly marries his Twilight homage to a tribute to his hero Woody Allen - it's Annie Hall with fangs. Unable to afford Kristen Stewart, he found the next best thing: look-alike up-and-coming actress Laura McDonald.
