I have been troubled some time about intolerance of the Islamic radicals who take the law into their own hands and carry out attacks on others just because the two parties differ in opinion or religion.

Author William Sargent weaves classic works of art into the ugly world of murder and madness in his action-packed new thriller, “The Impressionist Murders” (published by iUniverse).
In downtown Houston, Arab men are being brutally murdered, but these aren’t just random, senseless killings. At the scene of each crime, the killer has painstakingly recreated a painting from the Impressionist era, and the artwork is meant to serve as a clue about where the next murder is going to take place.
There seems to be no motive for the killings. The victims don’t know each other and come from a variety of backgrounds. The cops are baffled and almost ready to give up when the clues begin to come together, forming a larger picture that could eventually lead them to the person – or people – they’re looking for.
“The problems in this novel are very prevalent in our society today,” Sargent writes. “I have been troubled some time about intolerance of the Islamic radicals who take the law into their own hands and carry out attacks on others just because the two parties differ in opinion or religion.”
