Sheridan Healthcare, Inc., a national practice management company that provides anesthesiology, emergency medicine, neonatology and radiology to hospitals and medical facilities, has launched SheridanClinicalResearch.com as a resource for pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations (CROs) looking to place their clinical trials.

“This website provides an overview of what our services and capabilities are,” said Deena Bernstein, director of clinical research for Sheridan Healthcare, Inc. and a member of the newly announced Leadership Council of the Society for Clinical Research Sites. “The fact is that clinical trials are time-consuming and labor intensive. Industry data suggests that fewer than four percent of physicians in the U.S. participate in clinical trials. That’s where Sheridan steps in.”

The Sheridan Clinical Research staff is led by Medical Director Jay S. Cohen, M.D., who has more than 20 years of experience as an investigator. He has been a principal investigator for pharmaceutical clinical trials for Sheridan since 2000 and medical director since 2009.

“We have extensive experience working with the top pharmaceutical companies and CROs in the country,” said Dr. Cohen. “We perform clinical trials in both private practice and community based hospital settings.”

The Sheridan Clinical Research staff also includes board certified principle investigators and a team of experienced researchers, project manager, regulatory analyst, research coordinators, and a compliance and marketing team for subject recruitment. Trained investigators are involved in feasibility, recruitment and retention.

“Many clinical trials fail to enroll a single patient leading to a trend known as zero enrollment, the consequences of which can be devastating to the investigator site, the sponsor, and those who would benefit from new, approved drug therapies and treatments,” said Bernstein. “At Sheridan Clinical Research, we move clinical trials forward.”
