Bethesda, MD (PRWEB) November 10, 2012
CME Outfitters, LLC, an award-winning accredited provider of multidisciplinary continuing education, today announces a new interactive CE activity entitled Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection: Advancing Care, Changing Lives. The activity launches with a live broadcast on November 28, 2012 at 12:00pm ET, and provides continuing education credit for physicians, nurses and pharmacists.
“This condition remains chronically under-diagnosed, especially in specific demographic populations” says Shari Tordoff, managing partner of CME Outfitters, LLC. “Effective guidelines for screening and treatment exist, yet a significant challenge remains a gap in the delivery of preventative and therapeutic services. This activity provides a thorough review of all the guidelines for care as well as strategies for screening, monitoring and adherence.”
Tordoff adds that the activity reviews best practices for primary care management of HBV infection within the framework of American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases guidelines, emerging data, and expert experience and thought. This focus on primary care helps clinicians in that practice setting:
- Increase the rate at which health care providers screen at-risk patients for hepatitis B infection.
- Provide accurate patient education and counseling to HBsAg-positive patients about the significance of their serologic findings and use of the findings to guide next treatment steps for hepatitis B infection.
- Devise a plan or refer for ongoing monitoring, follow-up, and determination of treatment candidacy for hepatitis B.
Faculty for the activity includes several renowned, award-winning clinician-researchers who have specific expertise in the research, treatment and management of chronic hepatitis B.
