Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) November 24, 2012

Babak Larian, MD, FACS in Los Angeles, presented a lecture regarding aesthetic parotidectomy surgery at the annual Multispecialty Plastic Surgery Course this past weekend in Los Angeles. The symposium brought together hundreds of highly-regarded plastic surgeons, oculoplastic surgeons and dermatologists for the weekend long program.

“Being able to present at the symposium was a very rewarding experience. It was an excellent course, headed by very talented surgeons in the plastic and cosmetic field,” said Dr. Larian

The two-day course aims to provide surgeons and physicians alike with new developments, treatments, procedures, and products in their field. This course specifically intends to improve therapeutic and diagnostic skills, allowing the symposium attendees to implement these new techniques into their practices right away. Ultimately, the course hopes to give surgeons confidence in their practice while maximizing patient safety and decreasing any negative outcomes.

“Doctor’s are constantly learning and finding new ways to better perform surgeries. It’s wonderful to be able to get such a large group of physicians together to provide insight and instruction as to what the latest techniques are,” said Dr. Larian.

Dr. Larian, expert head and neck surgeon in Los Angeles, spoke about performing aesthetic parotidectomy surgery for patients experiencing a benign or cancerous tumor in the parotid gland. This type of surgery is less invasive than its traditional counterpart and provides the patient with a quicker recovery time and much less pain. An aesthetic parotidectomy differs for several reasons, including the use of a smaller incision type, which is also used in the performance of facelifts. This incision wraps around the ear and provides doctors with easy access to remove the parotid gland tumor.

“Performing an aesthetic parotidectomy provides patients with an easier healing process, minimizes scarring, improves aesthetic contour, and has become an outpatient procedure," said Dr. Larian.
