Two Ten Footwear Foundation will host a record number of guests at their 2012 Annual Dinner & Auction to be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 from 6-10 p.m. at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, located in Times Square. Tickets to the event sold out last week at over 1,400 guests. Donations continue to be accepted. Two Ten attributes the success of this year’s event to the work of Annual Dinner Chair, Steve Madden of Steven Madden Ltd. and the 2012 Annual Dinner Committee led by Joe Ouaknine, Chief Executive Officer of Titan Industries and Danny Schwartz, Chief Executive Officer of Schwartz & Benjamin. The theme of the Annual Dinner & Auction this year is “Come Together.”I chose “Come Together” as the theme because this event is a celebration of everyone in our industry uniting to support one another.” says Steve. “This year’s sell out is a perfect example of the compassion of the footwear community. We have an exciting night in store for our guests.”
The event will include award presentations for outstanding humanitarian achievements. Carol Baiocchi, Senior Vice President, Division Merchant Manager Footwear at Kohl’s Departments Stores will be receiving the A.A. Boom Award for her service to Two Ten and the industry. Aldo Bensadoun of The Aldo Group will be presented with the T. Kenyon Holly award for his widespread philanthropy, including his work with AIDS Awareness. The night will begin with an auction, during which lucky attendees will have the opportunity to win a Carlos Santana Experience, Meet and Greet with Heidi Klum, a seat at the Project Runway finale runway show, a power lunch with Diane Von Furstenberg, golf with a pro, private jet for 6 guests and other exclusive packages. “We are thrilled to welcome such a large number of guests to the Annual Dinner.” says Danny Schwartz, chair of the Annual Dinner Operations Committee. “It is wonderful that our industry can join together year after year on this night. Two Ten has been holding this event since 1940 and each person attending this year will now be a part of that legacy. It truly is something to be proud of.”
The Annual Dinner & Auction raises funds to support thousands of shoepeople and their families who require emergency financial assistance, confidential counseling services, higher education scholarships, access to local social services and career and networking opportunities. Two Ten provides financial assistance of $1.35 million to over 2,000 footwear employees annually as well as $700,000 in scholarships to over 400 scholars.
