Submission of application for 21st Century funds to the California Department of Education

After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles (ASAS-LA) is a leading after-school program provider whose programs educate, enlighten and inspire thousands of students each day through after-school activities centered around health, fitness and nutrition; the visual and performing arts; and youth leadership and community service learning.

ASAS-LA brings innovative, cutting-edge enrichment programs to K-12 students that contribute to reducing drug use, crime and violence; while increasing their safety during the after school hours. The organization serves over 5,000 students daily across 44 schools located in deserving areas throughout LA County. Kobe Bryant is an ASAS-LA Program Ambassador.

After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles is proud to partner with Downtown Value School, ICEF Inglewood ES, ICEF Inglewood MS, Frederick Douglass Academy High, Lou Danztler Academy High, Cindy & Bill Simon Tech (formerly Alliance College-Ready Academy High #11), Alliance Media Arts Academy High, Montebello HS, and Bell Gardens HS to submit an application for 21st Century funds to the California Department of Education.

After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles is enthused to submit this proposal, and, if awarded, provide a community learning center that offers students academic enrichment opportunities and activities designed to complement the students' regular academic program, assist students in passing state achievement tests and exit exams, assist with literacy and related educational development services for their families; while providing a safe environment for all participants.
