Key to SaaS is the customer’s ability work with a single vendor for all parts of the service, and our partnership with Syncro Soft enables customers to work directly with us for both the XML editing and XML content management.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) November 12, 2012
Astoria Software, a division of TransPerfect, today announced that it has entered into a partnership with Syncro Soft to resell oXygen XML Editor worldwide. The agreement ensures a one-stop business relationship between Astoria Software and customers of the Astoria Content Management solution, and the partnership ties together two companies whose products are leaders in the technical communications market. Astoria Software will showcase its integration with oXygen XML Author at the oXygen-Users Meetup November 11, 2012, in Frankfurt, Germany.
The First Enterprise-wide XML CMS Integrates Seamlessly with the Fastest-growing XML Editor
The partnership of Astoria Software and Syncro Soft combines the world’s first Enterprise solution for XML Component Content Management -- and the first to deliver both an Enterprise-wide SaaS/On-Demand and an On-Premises approach -- with one of the most popular XML editors on the market, allowing Astoria Software to bring the benefits of XML content creation and management to a wider audience of users.
“Software-as-a-service is one of the primary drivers in business today,” said Michael Rosinski, President and CEO of Astoria Software. “Key to SaaS is the customer’s ability work with a single vendor for all parts of the service, and our partnership with Syncro Soft enables customers to work directly with us for both the XML editing and XML content management.” The partnership between Astoria Software and Syncro Soft allows customers of Astoria Content Management to buy oXygen XML Author directly from Astoria Software and also get first-level support from Astoria Software, too.
“We are very happy to be working more closely with Astoria Software,” said George Bina, a founding member of Syncro Soft. “We extend out API in response to Astoria feedback to allow all the powerful element level functionality of Astoria to work from within oXygen. The combination of these two products makes great technical and business sense.”
Tight Integration between Astoria Content Management and the oXygen XML Editor
Integrating oXygen and Astoria goes far beyond the kinds of editor integrations that are available in a typical XML content management solution. Other XML content management systems (CMSs) support basic content management operations from within the editor, such as file check out and check in. A user running an Astoria-integrated editor also gets check-out and check-in functions, along with sixteen additional operations that include operations on any XML element in a file, such as:
- Displaying the XML object’s history and properties
- Showing where the XML object is used elsewhere in the CMS
- Presenting user-defined attributes on the XML object
- Searching for similar XML objects with specific properties and attributes
This level of integration is usually possible only in a custom-built editor embedded within an XML CMS. With Astoria, though, each of these operations is available to the desktop oXygen user from an oXygen menu item. Furthermore, the oXygen integration to Astoria isn’t limited to just the popular DITA vocabulary. Users can define their own XML vocabularies, build documents following those vocabularies in oXygen, and manage those XML files in Astoria.
