In Amanda McTigue’s debut novel, GOING TO SOLACE, a host of helpers — hapless family members and improvising professionals — find themselves going to “Solace,” a Blue Ridge Mountain hospice where their loved (or hated) ones are being cared for. Inspired by her own characters, the author of this newly released and highly acclaimed debut novel will do the same. Over the Thanksgiving season, Amanda journeys from Washington DC to Atlanta GA on her "Giving Thanks to Givers Tour," stopping off at hospices, libraries and schools with books and messages of gratitude. McTigue's book sales and author appearances in key cities will benefit local hospice organizations.

ABOUT "Going to Solace"

"There’s comfort in GOING TO SOLACE. There are many favorite moments in this delightful book... As a hospice physician, the territory that McTigue is exploring here I know well. She beautifully parts the veil between the worlds and ever so briefly invites the reader to gaze across to the other side. Just as the characters’ hearts crack open, so do the readers’."
~ Scott Eberle, M.D., Medical Director, Hospice of Petaluma
