CentralOregonCharities.org today announced the immediate availability of a new mobile donation App and portal designed to help drive consumer awareness and engagement with non-profit organizations in the Central Oregon area. The groundbreaking Mobile Donor Engagement System provides local charities of all sizes with access to technology that literally ‘puts them on the map’ in the eyes of potential and current donors and helps turn once-anonymous donations of goods into lasting and rich relationships. Free to both participating non-profit organizations and donors, CentralOregonCharities.org removes the significant cost and implementation barriers that non-profit organizations face in developing and deploying technology solutions to manage and grow their donor bases. The system is launching with over 15 participating non-profit organizations.
The CentralOregonCharities.org free mobile app, available for Apple iPhone and iPad devices and for Android smartphones, enables individuals to:
- Search for organizations accepting in-kind and cash donations
- Use location mapping technology to find the nearest office or drop-off point
- Create detailed donation records for in-kind donations
- Download donation records into popular tax software or send to an accountant
- Get updates, news, and other communications from their favorite organizations
- Make cash donations to participating organizations
The participating non-profit organizations benefit by gaining increased awareness of — and donations to — their organizations through the location-aware search function and the database of organizations. More importantly, as donors create their donation records, the non-profit organizations are able to learn who their donors are and communicate with them through the app. This core capability will enable organizations to drive donor engagement and affinity and create lasting relationships with the donor community.
“We are thrilled to be participating in the CentralOregonCharities.org initiative,” said Ann Grediagin, President of the Deschutes County Search and Rescue Foundation. “Not everyone is aware that we take in-kind donations, and the CentralOregonCharities.org app and site will help drive awareness, donations and donor involvement. In fact, the site has already facilitated a donation valued at over $9,000 for us!”
Initially funded through a grant by the Meyer Memorial Trust to St. Vincent de Paul of Bend, the CentralOregonCharities.org system is owned and operated by InstantMobile Solutions, Inc., the technology provider of the system. On-going operation and growth of the system will be funded through sponsorships and premium offerings.
“Non-profit organizations often struggle to adopt new technologies due to limited budgets and staffing. CentralOregonCharities.org is democratizing access to solutions that truly change the landscape of donor relationships, and we are honored to be a driving force behind having Bend be the first deployment of this new non-profit community system,” said Stan Brock, President of St. Vincent de Paul Social Services of Bend.
“Our vision is to see this mobile donor engagement system available for every non-profit organization in this country,” said Tom McCullough, Founder and President of InstantMobile Solutions. “It is gratifying to build an innovative solution which serves organizations that want to help the less fortunate and change the world for the better.”
