Connor will be supplying a range of its wood surfaces for the Huamark Indoor Stadium, Nimibutr Stadium and Korat Chatchai Hall, including its patented QuickLock™ portable wood system. The principles made the decision to use Connor wood surfaces for the first time because the courts provide optimal resiliency and shock absorption, and ensure peak performance and safety for their athletes. Additionally, using Connor wood flooring provided the ability to create futsal surfaces in existing venues not constructed specifically for futsal, and the courts can be quickly and easily removed after the tournament.

“We are proud to have been chosen for the most prestigious Futsal event in the world,” stated Ron Cerny, President and CEO, Connor Sports Flooring. “Credit goes out to the entire organization for providing outstanding product and service to the FIFA Futsal World Cup.”

The FIFA Futsal World Cup is the international championship for futsal, an indoor version of association football. The first event was held in 1989, the year FIFA became the world governing body of futsal. The 24 participating teams will be divided into six groups of four teams. Each team will play one match against each of the other teams in the same group, with three points for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a defeat. The teams finishing first and second in each group and the four best teams among those ranked third qualify for the round of 16. Single elimination play continues until the winners of the semifinals play for the final, and the losers of the semifinals vie for third place.
