Hartford, CT (PRWEB) November 12, 2012
Nurtur®, the wellness behavior change company serving employers, plan sponsors, health plans and government programs, was selected as a winner for three print communications materials in the 19th annual National Health Information Awards™. This program recognizes the nation’s best consumer health information programs and materials.
Nurtur was recognized with a bronze award for the UpBeat newsletter, a quarterly disease-management publication mailed to members of managed Medicaid programs nationwide. Produced in both English and Spanish, UpBeat includes information and action items designed to encourage better self-management of chronic health conditions. The newsletter was recognized in the health promotion and disease prevention information category.
Also in that category, Nurtur received a merit award for its “Total Wellness” poster series, developed for Wellness clients. Based on the Good Health communications campaign, each poster in the series focuses on one of four themes – stress reduction, weight loss, exercise or nutrition – and encourages members to engage in health coaching and use their online wellness program resources.
Earning a merit award in the consumer decision-making category was an awareness poster for OptiMe, a wellness program offered to patients by participating physicians in Atlanta, Ga. The poster promotes the program’s benefits, including customized online wellness resources and personalized health coaching and weight management services tailored to the patient’s specific health needs and goals.
“These awards provide independent validation of the quality of our member communications,” said Sydney Webb, Director of Member Communications and Engagement for Nurtur. “Effective communications are crucial to the success of any workplace wellness program. In partnership with our clients, we work to come up with the best ways to build a culture of health within their diverse constituent populations. It is an honor for Nurtur to be recognized with these awards.”
The National Health Information Awards are presented by the Health Information Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for consumer health information programs and materials. It is the most competitive award program of its kind. According to Patricia Henze, Executive Director of the Health Information Resource Center, “These awards set an industry standard of quality for consumer health materials, and this ‘seal of quality’ helps health professionals find the best consumer health information resources for their programs.”
