The Holiday Inn Fort Myers Airport/Town Center, on Alico Road at I-75 received the IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) 2012 Torchbearer Award, the company's most prestigious award.

The Torchbearer Award was presented during the 2012 IHG Americas Investors & Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, Oct. 24–26, 2012.

The Holiday Inn Fort Myers Airport/Town Center is one of only 2% of the more than 4,500 hotels within the Americas chosen from the IHG system for achieving the highest levels of excellence in all aspects of operation -- from quality to customer satisfaction. A 2012 Torchbearer trophy, the company's symbol of excellence, will be on permanent display at the hotel. The Torchbearer is the third successive award this hotel has earned since opening in 2009. It was designated Newcomer of the Year for 2010, it received the Quality Excellence award for the year 2011 and, in its first year of eligibility, was designated a Torchbearer hotel.
