In 2012, DuVine Adventures, a luxury bike tour operator, contributed a percentage of all sales to The Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) to support their efforts to raise money for life-saving cancer research and treatment. Their support of the organization has recently earned them the title of Official Bike Tour Operator and Sponsor of the PMC. As the Official Operator and Sponsor, DuVine’s financial commitment to the charity will continue in 2013 and beyond.
By organizing a lunch stop party for the riders, which included a misting tent, iced coffee, photo booth, snacks and beverages, DuVine supported over 5,000 cyclists riding toward the PMC’s accomplishment of raising $37 million for cancer research and treatment. Billy Starr, Founder and Executive Director of the PMC, presented the $37 million check on November 4, 2012.
The PMC is an annual bike-a-thon across Massachusetts, bringing together thousands of cyclists for the largest athletic charity event in the country. The event has contributed $375 million to lifesaving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since its 1980 inception, raising more money for charity than any other single event in the country.
As the Official Bike Tour Operator and Sponsor of the PMC, DuVine also offers a special PMC Bike Tour, where riders are invited to cycle alongside PMC founder Billy Starr in support of the cause. Just like any DuVine tour, guests enjoy gourmet meals, deluxe accommodations and world-class wines. DuVine will be welcoming PMC riders in Provence, France in April 2013.
