ProAct Safety Inc. announced its speakers for the 40th Annual North Dakota Safety & Health Conference. ProAct Safety presenters include Terry L. Mathis, CEO and founder of ProAct Safety, and Shawn M. Galloway, the company’s president and COO. The two speakers will provide five educational sessions for more than 1,000 expected attendees at the Bismarck Civic Center on 5 and 6 February 2013 in Bismarck, North Dakota.

Mathis, a safety veteran and pioneer who has provided thought leadership in the industry for more than a decade, said the North Dakota conference is one of many state safety events in the U.S. that are critical in the education of safety stakeholders and advancement of safety methods throughout the nation.

“We believe it’s important to share our expertise at state events like this, to make it possible for safety professionals at all levels to gain best results. For those who are protected by safety measures in many different corporate and industrial settings, the acquisition of new ideas and tools for implementing them can be a matter of life and death.”

Mathis and Galloway, known for practical safety strategies and easily self-implementable tactics, plan to present new ideas about safety excellence to attendees—ideas that could improve results in ways they might not have realized are options.

Galloway, an internationally known safety excellence expert and educator, explains, “Our goal is to help attendees discover transformational opportunities and challenge existing thinking about what it takes to achieve and sustain excellence in safety culture and performance.”

Sessions conducted by Mathis and Galloway will include:

  • Zero Incident Goals Create Risk-Taking Cultures – Learn to Measure What Matters
  • Safety Measurements – Boring, Uninspiring and Fear Inducing
  • Teaching Supervisors to Coach for Performance
  • Behavior-Based Safety: Dead, Alive or Failure to Thrive?
  • Contractor Safety

Serena Schmit, NDSC marketing coordinator, said Mathis and Galloway will provide training pertinent to supervisory level attendees at the conference, helping them gain the knowledge they need to bring their programs to the next level. “We chose Shawn and Terry because of their reputation as high-quality and highly qualified speakers,” she said.
