“Since we're now living in such a progressive society, it felt like the right time. The car gets a lot of attention – both good and bad – which is what we expected."
Solana Beach, California (PRWEB) November 14, 2012
gaytravel.com, the online community that connects LGBT travelers around the world, just announced several new marketing initiatives to enhance the visibility of their brand. One in particular is the introduction of what the company has dubbed the, “GT Cruiser.”
After the purchase a of black Scion XB sport utility vehicle it was then “wrapped” with a partial laminate graphic bearing the gaytravel.com logo and phone number. The company that applied the graphic was the family-owned and operated CPR Signs, located in El Cajon, California.
Community Director Joey Konecek has been chosen as the steward of the vehicle. Konecek will take the car to events and will drive it back and forth from his home in Hillcrest to gaytravel.com’s new headquarters, located at 731 S. Highway 101 in Solana Beach.
"At times I feel like a celebrity as I drive through neighborhoods like Hillcrest,” Konecek said. “People are waving, taking pictures, and honking their horns, I am definitely having fun with it."
Having a car with such a graphic may not have worked a decade ago.
"When I started this business more than 10 years ago the idea of placing our logo on a company vehicle wasn't even considered,” said Steve Rohrlick, founder of gaytravel.com. “Since we're now living in such a progressive society, it felt like the right time. The car gets a lot of attention – both good and bad – which is what we expected."
To celebrate the addition of the GT Cruiser gaytravel.com is launching “Spot The GT Cruiser” promotion running now until December 7, 2012.
