This is the first of several patents Corista has applied for with the US and World PTO's. This foundational patent provides for a networked functionality for remote medical centers and physicians as they request second opinions for Pathology cases from Expert Centers and receive diagnostic reports. Corista's platform eliminates the need to physically or digitally transfer the pathology images being reviewed. The patent is the basis on which several additional patents have been filed, creating a comprehensive technology infrastructure for the Corista platform.
The Corista Digital Pathology Processing Platform is currently in use at leading Pathology centers around the United Sates. Using the Corista platform, these expert centers are able to provide immediate, on-demand pathology services to remote patients and their physicians in the US and around the world. The result is faster, better medical care for patients regardless of physical location.
Since 2004, Corista has been developing its image processing software for Pathologists in a scalable browser-based software platform. The platform, DP3, provides a comprehensive solution that includes a centralized Dashboard integrating in-house and remote patient cases into a single view for physicians, with additional tools for patient case review including image viewing and navigation, on-demand colleague consultation, annotations, measurements and diagnoses, including diagnostic templates. The platform’s universal viewer reads images from any whole slide imaging platform; provides a highly secure environment, integrates with existing hospital information systems, is hardware agnostic and supports a complete range of devices for users including high resolution monitors, tablets, touchscreens and game controllers.
