Poet-author Norma Isobella Burdon makes a captivating debut into the publishing world as she compiles her literary pieces which were written over the years in My Favorite Things. This book contains her expressive poems, exciting short stories and soulful songs that capture several themes common to all—and written to fascinate everyone.
This collection is a vivid representation of the quiet thoughts that travel through Burdon’s mind. These poems, short stories and songs were inspired by her experiences, travels and observations on different things. Divided into five equally appealing sections, this book covers themes such as animals, nature, special places and people, Christmas and spirituality. Readers will find poems about dogs, a lily, the icicles, the Little Stone Church, Hawaii, the Word of God, the essence of peace, grief, and more. They will also read stories about childhood memories or watching the weather. Her songs are just as soothing as her poems where she sings about the snowman or the gumstick, and many more.
Through each piece in this compilation, the author takes her readers on a meaningful poetic journey and adventure where they can find not only amusement or delight, but also comfort and inspiration. My Favorite Things is truly a must read for everyone.
