School Improvement Network’s technology-rich LiveBook 360 was named among the top educational technology products by a panel of more than 30 educators for Tech & Learning magazine. The panel tested over 160 entries, and named LiveBook 360, a dynamic, highly interactive replacement for the ebook, among the most high-quality, high-impact resources available.

“LiveBook 360 is so much more than a static, unchanging ebook,” said School Improvement Network CEO and President Chet Linton. “The technology is highly interactive, and connects educators to the text, the author and fellow readers in a way never before possible. It’s an essential tool to building better classrooms and teachers through collaboration, and will truly help teachers learn what they need to know in their work of preparing all students for college and career.”

School Improvement Network’s LiveBook 360 creates a dynamic experience by connecting users to an interactive community instead of just a book. Side buttons and tabs allow readers to watch videos inserted into the text by the author, download worksheets and other application materials, upload video or document samples of their work as part of personal professional development goals or even discuss the text with other readers and the author in real time, making the technology and experience more sophisticated than the standard ebook.

“As schools continue to have to do more with less, buying the right solution for your district needs is more important than ever,” said Kevin Hogan, editorial director for NewBay Media’s Tech & Learning Group in a press release about LiveBook 360 and other excellence in technology award winners. “Tech & Learning is proud to present these recommended products that have been put to the test by our experienced educational team of judges.”

Judges’ comments and descriptions about what they loved about the interactive LiveBook 360 and the advanced technology that moves it beyond a mere ebook will be available in the December 2012 issue of Tech & Learning.
