Tequesta’s signature-showcase event, Tequesta Fest, will offer a thrill a minute when it comes to town Nov. 17 with fast-paced rides, child-friendly fun and games and a tempting treat trailer that will tantalize guests of all ages.
The grassroots community event will take place at Paradise Park, an area west of a quiet neighborhood of Intracoastal Waterway homes for sale. The park will be filled with a variety of vendors offering everything from nonprofit information, to government literature, to face painting, to popcorn and snow cones.
The country-Western-themed festival wouldn’t be complete without showing off local and regional bands. Thunder Road, a Treasure Coast group, will play at 1 p.m., and Burnt Biscuit, renowned throughout Palm Beach and Broward counties, will take the stage at 4:30 p.m. The Wild Roses dance team will perform all day.
A traveling trolley will offer convenient pickup and drop off at more than one dozen locations, including the north gates of the Tequesta Country Club near Turtle Creek, Gallery Square at Tequesta Drive, and Seabrook Road and on Village Boulevard.
Village residents can claim their free wrist bands for Tequesta Fest, garnering them easy admission, at the Parks and Recreation Department, 399 Seabrook Road. Wrist bands can be picked up between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Nov. 16. Proof of residency will be required. Nonresidents can attend for $10 at the door.
The Super Slide, the Fury Thrill Ride, the Roll-A-Ball game and the Water Gun Race game are among the activities for teenagers and children. PNC Bank, one of the sponsors of Tequesta Fest, will operate a mobile-learning unit in an onsite interactive van. Funnel cakes can be cooked to order.
A lot of fun will be in the air between 1 and 7 p.m. at the 2012 installment of Tequesta Fest, and Waterfront Properties and Club Communities’ Tequesta clients will be there to enjoy it.
