"I am excited to be back in St. Louis and to be joined by such a talented, dynamic physician as Dr. Dayal." - Geoffrey Sher, M.D.
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) November 20, 2012
Geoffrey Sher MD, a pioneer in the field of infertility and Co-founder of the Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM), announced today that he will establish a residence in St. Louis to care for patients and lead the Institute’s St. Louis office.
Joining Dr. Sher at SIRM St. Louis will be Molina Dayal MD, MPH, a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist (RE) with ten years’ experience in the field. Dr. Dayal is the only female RE in private practice in the Greater St. Louis area.
As part of this transition, Peter Ahlering, MD will be departing SIRM St. Louis in January after an 11-year tenure as medical director. Dr. Ahlering trained under Dr. Sher and, along with the SIRM management and clinical teams helped establish SIRM St. Louis as one of the premier fertility treatment programs in the nation.
Dr. Sher will become acting Medical Director at SIRM-St Louis upon Dr. Ahlering's departure. Dr. Sher and Dr. Dayal will begin seeing patients on December 15th.
To introduce themselves to the local patient community, Dr. Sher and Dr. Dayal will be hosting a free, educational seminar on December 16, 2012. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to ask questions and meet with Dr. Sher and Dr. Dayal one on one. Topics of discussion will include:
- What makes IVF succeed or fail
- Immune issues that affect IVF outcome
- Diagnosis and treatment of genetic issues in IVF
- Making IVF more affordable
As has become the custom at SIRM seminars, Dr. Sher and Dr. Dayal will be donating a free IVF treatment package to one couple in attendance. Over the past three years, SIRM has donated more than 50 free IVF cycles (valued at more than $10,000 each) at seminars across the United States.
“More than a decade ago, I helped establish the St. Louis Sher Institute practice by implementing the founding principles of SIRM; compassionate, personalized care and breakthrough science. I have seen the practice grow into the outstanding program it is today” said Dr. Sher. “Now I have come full circle. I am excited to be back in St. Louis and to be joined by such a talented, dynamic physician as Dr. Dayal. I look forward to working alongside her in helping local patients go from infertility to family. “
