We suggest developing a monthly budget to manage household finances and trying to cut back where possible.
(PRWEB UK) 14 November 2012
The cost of living has increased with the Consumer Price Index’s rate of inflation recorded at 2.7% last month, its biggest increase in over a year.
Inflation had been falling in recent months after peaking at 5.2% in September 2011, but now experts predict it will reach 3% by January.
It is believed the rises are mainly linked to the tuition fees cap rising to £9000 at the start of the academic year in September. Another contributing factor was a rise in vegetable prices, with the potato and carrot harvest damaged by flooding.
The rise outstrips pay increases for those in work, leading to millions of families being worse off.
A spokesperson from Dosh Express said:
“The rise in the cost of living is going to put added pressure on many families and individuals, especially over the Christmas period. We suggest developing a monthly budget to manage household finances and trying to cut back where possible. By organising monthly outgoings and resisting impulse buys where possible, inflation may be easier to swallow.”
