Captain Sonny Paago encourages people to follow God’s law that is laid out in the Bible. But, is a 2,000 year-old book still relevant to people in 2012?
Paago has written the book, God’s Law, in an effort to spread the importance of applying it into our daily lives as Christ’s followers. The book is focused on the understanding of God’s Law and how it applies to Christians in the 21st century.
Sonny grew up in a large Indonesian family and lived in extreme poverty. Life was tough. He went through so many hardships in life and says he wouldn’t have survived without Jesus. Now, Paago is using his experiences to help others.
“I was an ocean liner captain but God called me to serve as the chairman of the Straight Path Fellowship Ministry,” says Paago. “This decision was made after I studied and became convicted that God’s law is the expression of His love to us.”
God’s Law is not about exclusion. Paago says God loves people of all backgrounds and faiths.
He says he’s discovered he has much in common with the non-Christian population of Indonesia.
“I believe that Jesus Christ belongs to every living person,” Paago says. “I have been sharing His law of love to my non-Christian family and friends in the last seven years and the book God’s Law was intended to be read by those of non-Christian background.”
Sonny’s daughter, Patriana, is helping with the publicity of God’s Law here in the U.S., and is happy to help with information, interviews and guest articles.
