My values, background and passion for education technology fit hand-in-glove with the organization’s mission, and I’m looking forward to the important work we’ll do on behalf of students and educators.

After a thorough national search and recruitment process, Learning.com has named Keith Oelrich as chief executive officer. As CEO, Oelrich will lead all facets of the company’s mission to help K-12 educators and administrators improve student learning through state-of-the-art education technology solutions. Oelrich’s entrepreneurial background and established track record of growing education technology businesses make him a natural fit for the Learning.com CEO position, according to board member Sandeep Kumar, who represents the Educomp Group and led the CEO search on behalf of the board of directors and employees.
“Keith has successfully served as CEO of several companies and has a deep understanding of the education space. The company looks forward to leveraging his expertise and passion for education,” said Kumar. “As the company continues its growth trajectory, Keith will be instrumental in helping the company meet the rapidly changing educational needs of students, parents and educators.”
Before joining Learning.com, Oelrich was co-founder and CEO of Portland-based Ignite Education Group. He is also the founder and former CEO of Insight Schools, which operates one of the nation’s leading networks of full-time, diploma-granting online public high schools, and is now a subsidiary of K12, Inc. Prior to founding Insight Schools, Oelrich was president and CEO of KC Distance Learning (KCDL), where he operated the then-largest private online high school in the U.S.
Oelrich was recognized in 2008 by the U.S. Distance Learning Association for “Leadership by an Individual in the Field of Distance Learning,” and in 2009 by the International Association for K-12 Online Learning (iNACOL) for “Outstanding Individual Contribution” to the K-12 online learning industry. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Cornell University and his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Washington.
“Learning.com has a strong tradition of innovation and leadership that extends the possibilities of meaningful 21st century technology integration in classrooms,” said Oelrich. “My values, background and passion for education technology fit hand-in-glove with the organization’s mission, and I’m looking forward to the important work we’ll do on behalf of students and educators.”
Anita Kopec, board member and interim CEO, will oversee the CEO transition process.
