“Source One is honored to receive the Green Supply Chain Award for the first time, especially since 2012, marks our 20th Anniversary of helping ‘green-minded’ companies drive savings and efficiencies in their supply chains,” said Steve Belli, Chief Executive Officer of Source One Management Services, LLC.
Source One helps denounce common myths regarding “green” procurement by helping organizations who desire sustainability in their supply chain to understand that green products aren’t always more expensive. Most recently, Source One worked with a national retail apparel brand known for its socially conscious practices. Source One’s team helped identify suppliers of green office products that had national recognition but a small business model (one which the client preferred). Source One coordinated with the vendor to create an online ordering tool for employees to use when ordering their green office products. The client’s goal was to limit the product options to create consistency and cut down on cost. The laundry list of green items included janitorial supplies, cleaning supplies, and office supplies. Successes in this project lead to a continued relationships with the client where Source One is actively implementing savings in many other categories.
“Our sourcing experts help clients identify suitable green alternatives to the products and services they need while ensuring a high quality standard. We even help our clients institute educational opportunities and change management assistance to help employees learn more about new green initiatives and understand the importance of compliance with new business goals,” said Joe Payne, Vice President of Professional Services for Source One.
The Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s Green Supply Chain Awards recognize businesses that prioritize sustainability within their supply chain strategy and are working towards measurable goals within their own operations in the areas of Sourcing/Procurement, Fulfillment/Logistics, Operations, Product Lifecycle Management, and other areas of the supply chain. The awards also recognize providers of green supply chain solutions who assist their customers in achieving sustainability goals. Submissions were weighted: 30% goals and strategy, 30% steps taken, 30% impact of the results to-date and projected results, and 10% form presentation.
