The 21st annual Christmas For Kids will continue an amazing Christmas tradition for underprivileged kids in Denver. This year's event is set for Saturday, December 8 and is sponsored by the Denver Active 20/30 Children's Foundation.

“For most of us at the Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation, Christmas for Kids is the highlight of our year. Just seeing the looks on the faces of these kids when they leave with gifts for their family members makes all of the hard work worthwhile."

The Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation is hosting its 21st annual Christmas for Kids on Saturday, Dec. 8th at 7:00 AM in Glendale, Colorado. Christmas for Kids provides underprivileged Denver area children the opportunity to experience the joy of holiday gift giving.

Early on Saturday morning, over 150 special children will take to the aisles of Target for a holiday shopping spree sponsored by the Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation. Each child will receive donated funds to buy Christmas gifts for family members—something many of these children have been unable to do before.

Santa Claus will kick off the festivities when he arrives in the Target parking lot via helicopter to greet the children. Then, with their Denver Active 20-30 buddy in tow, the children listen, learn to budget, and develop a shopping list focused on their family. After wrapping their gifts with the help of the Denver Bronco cheerleaders, the children will leave with newly wrapped packages stuffed in shopping bags for their families.

The Christmas for Kids children are all part of Denver Kids, Inc., an organization dedicated to helping students in Denver Public Schools who face the personal challenges of high risk environments. The children who participate in Christmas for Kids are chosen based on performance and improvement in school over the past year.

“For most of us at the Denver Active 20-30 Children’s Foundation, Christmas for Kids is the highlight of our year. Just seeing the looks on the faces of these kids when they leave with gifts for their family members makes all of the hard work worthwhile,” said Michael Fadell, Chairman of the Christmas for Kids event.
