Some people seem to be content with the current position they have at work. It could be that they are just afraid to apply for that position because they think the job might be more than they can handle. Author Edward Lopatin reminds them that they are not alone with these fears as he teaches them How to Survive Your Promotion.

For many professionals, promotional opportunities often mean moves into very responsible positions that require different skills than the skills needed to be successful as entry-level or midlevel professionals. How to Survive Your Promotion offers personal insights and descriptions of the most difficult and interesting challenges that the author experienced as a director. Lopatin shares, “From my mistakes, discoveries, and using common sense, I offer you eighty-five surefire ways to prove they were right to hire you.”

In this book, Lopatin eloquently reveals his pathway to success, and shows readers useful tips like the importance of: building a timetable for success; dressing for the job; behaving ethically, and asking for help when needed; taking bold, risky and innovative steps; and more. Some of these surefire suggestions may appear to be simple and common sense, however, the author found out that when one is stressed and faced with more challenges than one can juggle, he tends to make bad decisions, is more accident prone, and more likely to make mistakes. He hopes that his suggestions will help people avoid making some of the bad decisions and mistakes that he made when he became the director.

An insightful guide with nuggets of wisdom that really work, How to Survive Your Promotion will help boost confidence, enhance skills and political acumen so that people can successfully overcome their fears and the obstacles in their way to succeed in the high-level management position they want to occupy.
