Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) November 15, 2012
Corona Labs, the Palo Alto-based leader in mobile software, is proud to announce the launch of Chicktionary Coop, developed with the popular Corona SDK and available on the App Store. Chicktionary Coop is the work of the nationally recognized Blockdot, and was developed with Corona SDK, the leading cross-platform development framework, in just over six months. Blockdot’s first Corona-made title was Truffula Shuffula, the official app for Universal Pictures’ Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, and the company has since created a portfolio of apps with Corona.
Building on the success of Chicktionary Classic, an app recently featured in TIME Magazine’s Top 25 iPad Game for Kids, Chicktionary Coop is the studio’s latest app for word game lovers. Chicktionary Coop is a multiplayer turn-based game that allows players to combine brainpower and solve shared puzzles. Players can earn virtual currency in the form of “Gold Eggs” and bring their chicken coop to life by purchasing virtual goods and clothing for the famous chickens.
“We’re ecstatic to continue the Chicktionary series with the launch of Chicktionary Coop,” says Jay Rutherford, Director of Application Development at Blockdot. “Thanks to Corona SDK’s speed, reliability, and cross-platform capability, we plan to bring Chicktionary Coop to Google Play in the near future, to reach word game lovers on Android.”
“Blockdot’s continuous support of Corona SDK is a testament to the strength and reliability of our platform,” says David Rangel, COO of Corona Labs. “We’re thrilled to add Chicktionary Coop to the ranks of blockbuster Corona-made games such as Blast Monkeys, The Lost City, and Bubble Ball. We’re confident players will love Chicktionary Coop and we’re excited to see the game climb the App Store charts.”
Chicktionary Coop is available as a free download on the App Store and will be hitting Google Play, Kindle Fire and NOOK soon. A free and unlimited trial of Corona SDK for cross-platform mobile development is available at http://www.coronalabs.com.
