G4S Golf Tournament Fundraiser Reaches Charity Milestone

G4S Secure Solutions (USA) has raised more than $100,000 from its 2012 Golf Tournament which benefits South Florida charities.

“One of the great thrills for everyone this year was to meet the children who received the bicycles and backpacks,” added Dean Saunders, G4S Senior Director of Purchasing.

G4S Secure Solutions (USA) has raised more than $100,000 from its 2012 Golf Tournament which benefits South Florida charities. This year, a special donation of bicycles, safety helmets and backpacks was presented to children served by Kids In Distress, Inc. Since 1997, the security company’s annual event has raised more $1.9 Million.

More than 250 people participated in the G4S Golf Tournament held at Eastpointe Country Club in Jupiter, Florida on November 3, 2012. More than 100 G4S employees volunteered during the event.

“Each year we seem to be able to help more and more charities,” said G4S Secure Solutions USA President Drew Levine.” It’s a thrilling event because it’s organized with the volunteer help of our G4S employees and our corporate and community partners.”

The 2012 donations from the G4S Secure Solutions Golf Tournament supports local organizations including:
Habitat for Humanity
Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital
Chris Evert Children's Hospital
Kids In Distress, Inc.
Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County
Wounded Warriors of South Florida
Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast
Palm Beach Gardens Police Explorers
Police Benevolent Association Officers’ Ball
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Foundation

Children and families served by Kids In Distress were invited to the post tournament ceremonies where they were presented with boys and girls bicycles, helmets, bike locks and backpacks.

Patty Moskol, Corporate Affairs Liaison for Kids In Distress said, “G4S Secure Solutions has shown a real commitment to our children. The company generously supports our mission in the south Florida area several times a year.”

“One of the great thrills for everyone this year was to meet the children who received the bicycles and backpacks,” added Dean Saunders, G4S Senior Director of Purchasing. “It was so rewarding to see so many children genuinely surprised and grateful for the gifts.”

Kids In Distress is the largest provider of foster homes in both Broward and Palm Beach Counties. The non-profit organization operates one of the only remaining emergency shelters for children ages birth to 15 years of age and a family counseling center which provides family therapy needs.
