Bethlehem, PA (PRWEB) November 15, 2012
everyday LIFE, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), today announced the addition of new services for families and members in recognition of National Family Caregivers Month. New services include a new Dementia Center, a monthly newsletter for family caregivers and weekly yoga and meditation classes.
“Everyday we work to provide families and members with services that can ease the strain of caregiving,” said John Paul Marosy, Executive Director at everyday LIFE in Bethlehem, PA. “everyday LIFE is the gold standard when it comes to caring for our aging loved ones and providing support for the family. During National Family Caregivers Month, we want families to know we are here not only to help care for their loved ones, but also to provide the support that they need.”
Everyday LIFE is a national program, sponsored by Presbyterian Senior Living in the Lehigh Valley and designed to enable frail seniors who are medically eligible for skilled nursing care to remain in the comfort of their homes. New services launched during the month of November include:

National Family Caregivers Month at the everyday LIFE center also will include a Blessing of the Fleet on Friday, November 16, 2012. The everyday LIFE program, which offers transportation services for members who receive care at the center, continues to build out its fleet of buses. According to Dr. Lanethea Mathews at Muhlenberg College, research indicates that one of the most demanding aspects of family caregiving is providing transportation to and from medical appointments, and everyday LIFE seeks to ease that burden by providing in-home care, as well as transportation to and from the LIFE center and doctors appointments.
“As families look ahead to 2013, we hope to continue helping caregivers create balance between work and caring for their aging loved ones. Adding these services to the everyday LIFE center is intended to both drive awareness for family caregivers during the month of November and to provide support through 2013 and beyond,” added Marosy.
Everyday LIFE is a Medicare and Medicaid funded program that serves as an alternative to nursing home placement. The program provides cost-free primary and nursing care for those who qualify financially, in addition to meals, socialization, therapy and social support services in the member’s home or at the Bethlehem, PA everyday LIFE center. Unlike any other program in the region, everyday LIFE offers comprehensive care at a level dictated by patient need instead of a restricted number of hours available for each patient. Physicians, patients, and family members work together as partners to help individuals better manage chronic conditions and acute episodes.
