On November 21, scientific skincare company Likewise Skincare releases a statement praising Kevin Nealon for his support of skin cancer research by hosting a celebrity golf tournament fundraiser to support the Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF).
According to the press release written in conjunction with the event, Kevin Nealon, the longtime star of Saturday Night Live and Weeds wanted to raise money for the MRF after losing a friend to skin cancer. The event took place at Lakeside Golf Club in Burbank, CA.
“There are so many of us who have had their lives touched by skin cancer,” states Likewise Skincare representative Lisa Shariat. “And every day I still see people, young and old, using tanning beds and hitting the beach without the barest hint of skin protection. People need to understand that excessive exposure to the sun doesn’t just make your skin look bad as you age, it can be deadly as well. We need more people like Mr. Nealon to help raise money to fight melanoma, but it is important to remember that there is still a lot that the average person can do to protect themselves as part of their own skincare regimen. I recommend that everyone use a moisturizer with a built-in sunscreen every day. Not only will this keep you looking young, but it will keep you safe as well. It’s just a tiny, extra step you can do before you go out in the morning, but, by adhering to it every day, you will reap huge rewards later in life.”
Likewise Skincare was founded by board-certified dermatologist and President of Likewise, Inc., Dr. Julie Pena. Likewise daily moisturizers are all-in-one but not one-fits-all. Each moisturizer is formulated with skin-balancing toners to work with your specific skin type. The moisturizers use a combination of anti-aging antioxidants, ultra-protective zinc oxide, and water-resistant ingredients to keep you protected.
