November’s Workshop at Indy Hall Focuses on Donor Acquisition and Securing Major Gifts

This month’s workshop focuses on giving executives the tools they need to succeed in asking for, and obtaining, that major gift that will advance an organization.

Avrum D. Lapin, Director and Senior Partner of the Philadelphia fundraising firm The EHL Consulting Group, will join nonprofit executives from the Greater Philadelphia Area for the second installment of the firm’s free monthly workshop series, “Dollars Making Sense.”

The workshop will focus on donor acquisition and the challenges of securing major commitments from individual donors, and will be held on Tuesday, November 20th from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM at Independents Hall (Indy Hall), located at 22 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106. Topics for November’s workshop will cover a range of advanced donor development strategies, and include:

  •     Appealing To Your Donors: Is there a season for giving?
  •     Campaign Communication Basics: Crafting compelling fundraising campaigns.
  •     Common Fundraising Methods: Why relying on “seat of the pants” decisions will hinder your success.
  •     How to Make “The Ask”: Tips for requesting support from a donor during a one-on-one meeting.

Next month’s workshop with explore Planned Giving and will be held on Tuesday, December 11th, 2012.
