In response to a report on ABC4 about healthy holiday eating, Yumi Media offers some advice.

On November 23, Yumi Media offers the easiest tip to eating healthier—going vegetarian—in response to an article published on ABC4 about healthy holiday eating.

The article made a series of recommendations about what a family should do to eat healthy during the holiday season, focusing especially on portion size trying to recreate holiday favorites with low-fat recipes. They also encouraged the family trying to eat healthy to do it together and not single anyone out, which can cause added stress and resentment.

Yumi Media Representative Eileen McGovern agrees with the report, but feels that it neglects to mention one of the easiest and most effective ways to enjoy a healthier diet while still having fun around the holidays. “If you’re really serious about being healthy, you should eat more meatless meals,” says McGovern. “While the idea of going vegetarian is scary to some people, it really is easier than a lot of people think. If you’re afraid that you’re going to have to give up on your favorite foods (and who would want to live in a world without fried chicken, meatballs, and hamburgers?), there is a wide range of meat substitutes on the market like [Quorn that can be used if you want to eat healthy while still loving every meal you eat. It really is that simple.”
