Friday, November 23rd, marks the 125th birthday of Boris Karloff, the legendary star of many early Hollywood horror film classics. How fitting that Mr. Karloff’s birthday this year falls on “Black Friday,” which long before it became synonymous with the start of the holiday shopping season, was the title of a 1940 Universal Studios Horror classic starring Karloff and fellow horror icon Bela Lugosi. Now if that’s not a spooky coincidence then we don’t know what is….
Of all his many roles, Karloff is best remembered for his portrayal The Monster in Universal’s 1931 film “Frankenstein.” Factory Entertainment is delighted to celebrate the quintessential horror film of the Golden Age of cinema by bringing Victor Frankenstein's creation to life again with their stunning 1:1 scale Frankenstein VFX Maquette.
Featuring the haunting likeness of Boris Karloff in accurate, life-size glory, the maquette’s unique VFX (visual effects) features literally bring the piece to life. Throwing the knife switch triggers lighting and audio effects taken straight from the film--- glowing eyes, crackling electricity, maniacal lines; all that’s missing is a remote castle and a deformed lab assistant!
Strictly limited to just 400 pieces worldwide, each VFX Maquette is handcrafted from heavyweight polystone and features a numbered limited edition plaque, certificate of authenticity and full color presentation box. The Frankenstein VFX Maquette is available from Factory Entertainment directly at http://www.factoryent.com, as well through fine collectibles retailers nationwide.
An ultra limited ‘MonoChrome Edition’ is also available. This edition is designed to evoke the golden age of the silver screen, and presents the Monster as he appears on screen in glorious black and white. This edition is only available from Factory Entertainment’s website, http://www.factoryent.com, and is limited to just 100 pieces.
The Frankenstein VFX Maquette is powered either by 3x AA Batteries (Included) or the provided AC Outlet Adaptor. Height: 16” Tall. Weight: 12lbs
