Xlibris, the print-on-demand, self-publishing services provider, announced today the release of The Fellers Called Him Bill, a story which takes the reader on an unbelievable ride through the American Civil War. It is a factual and dramatic reading of the most fascinating period in American history.
The Fellers Called Him Bill is being released just in time to celebrate the sesquicentennial of the Great Rebellion. It has been 150 years since United States was ripped apart by Civil War. Thirty-one million Americans lived through those miserable years of hostility, and every one of them had his own unique story. In this narrative, P. J. Kearns covers the principle political and military figures of the day while highlighting the major events of the war, but the author personalizes the historical account by following one soldier’s incredible journey through the national nightmare.
The story begins with a discussion of the causes of the Rebellion, after which the reader is introduced to William Hall Stow, a young man who is about to volunteer for Mr. Lincoln’s Army. Although the narrative includes battles and military campaigns, it is essentially a study of human beings and their struggle for survival. Private Stow’s personal history is based on the letters he wrote to his family now being published for the first time.
The Fellers Called Him Bill is a drama replete with intriguing anecdotes while it also examines the many unsolved mysteries of the Civil War era. It is a story of love and hate, courage and cowardice, life and death, victory and defeat. It is a tale of real people, the real Americans who fought to save the United States from destruction. Because the author has included a wealth of photos and illustrations, the narrative is being published as a 3-volume set: Secession and the Outbreak of Civil War; The Rebellion Intensifies; The Final Desperate Fighting and the Aftermath of War. This story proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that truth is stranger than fiction, and more interesting, too!
