Surf Patch released a statement regarding the new technology tool that allows passengers to check wait times.

On November 21, 2012, travel company Surf Patch released a statement, following the news of a Chron article by Carol Christian, discussing the use of new technology that helps passengers flyclear of stress by letting them check their wait time at the airport.

According to the Chron article, “With one of the year's busiest flying seasons already under way, travelers can take advantage of a new technology tool to check security wait times at Houston's airports.” The article states that the new technology conveniently updates passengers with the wait time to get through airport security. The article mentions that “The website captures Bluetooth signals and lists how many minutes an average person spends moving through each of eight checkpoint areas.”

According to the article, every fifteen minutes the airports website will refresh itself and show one of three colors, each indicating a timespan. Green signals 10 minutes or less, yellow signals 11-15 minutes, and red informs passengers that their is a 15 minute or more timespan. The article also mentions that, “Through the My TSA mobile app, travelers can share their security wait times and see the wait times other passengers have posted.”

Travel company Surf Patch applauded this new system for helping passengers [flyclear __title__ ] of stress. World traveler Takara Licausi stated, “This system is a great idea. Hopefully it will keep people more calm and relaxed knowing just how long they will be waiting to clear through security. Hopefully this new technology will pop up in more airports around the country.”
