CV Surgeon, the CV and career expert, has expanded their social presence via online social media and blogging.
CV Surgeon has always offered CV advice and tips in the form of advice articles. But, recognising the need from candidates for more social and online interaction, the brand has now launched a blog and uses social media to interact with users.
Craig Stovold, Director, commented: “We have always offered our users exclusive content on career advice. From helping them to prepare for a job interview to offering advice for their first day of work – the site is full of content designed to help jobseekers. The explosion of social media and online networking has meant we have no developed a more social platform for our users. We now have a blog where we comment on topical issues and the plan for the future will be enabling our users to comment on this and interact.”
The brand also now has an online presence on social sites including Facebook and Twitter. The social media sites stream content from the website and the career channel on You Tube. The social media sites, as well as offering tips and CV advice, enable users to interact and meet like-minded individuals. Craig Stovold continued: “Social media is a big part of society today and many companies and job seekers use it as a platform to network and find career opportunities. Our social presence has enabled us to further filter out our career advice and video content but we also post exciting opportunities we find from across the net and any job vacancies we hear of. Eventually we want to offer an all-round, bespoke career service and I know our users are benefitting from our content already.”
As well as offering advice and tips, the CV Surgeon site also offers exclusive interview access to experts working in different industries. The section, called Industry Spotlight, sees experts interviewed about their job and career background. As well as giving users the chance to see an insight into the job, the interviews also provide tips on how to impress employers.
The CV Surgeon site also offers its members bespoke CV templates. Members can sign in and create unique CV templates and design them from scratch – including design, layout, picture content and graphics. The CV templates are designed to help users improve their CV writing skills and to help their applications stand out from the crowd.
