“This is a huge boost for RuckPack,” said Major Dyer after the broadcast. “We are indebted to everyone at ‘Shark Tank’ for their belief in the consumer value and future potential of RuckPack."

RuckPack, the caffeine-free nutritional supplement beverage developed by a Marine combat veteran, announced today it received $150,000 in venture funding – double the amount sought – from two investors on ABC-TV’s popular entrepreneur reality show, “Shark Tank.”
Major Rob Dyer, the founder of RuckPack and a professor of economics at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, successfully convinced “Shark Tank” panelists Kevin O’Leary and Robert Herjavec to invest $75,000 each in the peak performance nutrition shot that he created on the battlefields of Afghanistan in 2008.
“This is a huge boost for RuckPack,” said Major Dyer after the broadcast. “We are indebted to everyone at ‘Shark Tank’ for their belief in the consumer value and future potential of RuckPack. This infusion of funds will help us to expand production to meet the already strong demand as well as to extend national distribution.”
In the episode that aired on the network November 16, O’Leary, a venture capitalist, and Herjavec, a technology mogul, were both impressed by Major Dyer’s compelling presentation. “This story is very powerful,” exclaimed O’Leary. “I like it a lot.” In return for their investment, each investor received ten percent of Dyer’s parent company, Noots! Nutrition.
Dyer is a Marine aviation officer who served two tours of duty in Iraq and two in Afghanistan, where he formed the idea for RuckPack. He launched the product on Veterans Day 2011 while he was completing his MBA in financial management at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA.
