David Lloyd Leisure’s flagship Amida Spa in Farnham has been shortlisted for the coveted accolade of Day Spa of the Year in the Professional Beauty Awards 2013.

Amida Spa Farnham is one of four finalists in the best day spa category in the most prestigious awards scheme for the beauty aesthetics, nail and spa industries - recognising those who make a real difference to the industry and encouraging their development.

Entries for the Professional Beauty Awards 2013 are shortlisted by independent panels of judges who are experts in their fields and pride themselves in having the most rigorous and fair awards judging process.

General manager at David Lloyd Farnham, Linden Henson, commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been named among the four best day spas in the country. It’s a fantastic achievement for the team and a recognition of excellence – we take great pride in offering spa lovers outstanding service and world-class facilities.”

Amida Spa Farnham, which opened in December 2011 as part of a new David Lloyd Farnham club, is the largest Amida Spa offered by David Lloyd Leisure, Europe’s premier sports, heath and leisure group.

The 1,200 sqm spa, comprising extensive indoor and outdoor facilities, offers some unique therapies from around the world using Alpha H, Aromatherapy Associates and Rodial products. There are six luxurious treatment rooms, a nail bar and pedi-spas, a wet spa including a 25m lap pool, five indoor and outdoor saunas, two steam rooms, four relaxation rooms, a salt grotto, a spa plunge pool, ice chute, tepidarium, hydrotherapy pool, salt pool and a dedicated spa bar.

Spacious, relaxing and soothing, Amida Spa Farnham is the first spa in the UK to offer clients knowledge-based sessions to share their expertise in spa therapy. A key highlight is the ‘heat rituals’, complementary bookable sessions that teach participants the art of the sauna experience, including the use of various scents and oils, effective heating and cooling, how to maximise the health benefits and much more. A treatment in itself, the 30-minute session uses various oils and techniques in indoor and outdoor saunas to demonstrate effective heat rituals.

The winners in the Professional Beauty Awards 2013 will be announced at The Excel in London on 24-25 February 2013.
