Following their hugely successful evening at the 13th Annual Latin Grammys last Thursday, international pop icons Juanes and Juan Luis Guerra have now set their sights to assist families impacted by Superstorm Sandy. In partnership with Barclays Center and producer Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN), Juanes and Juan Luis Guerra, who took home Latin Grammys for Best Album and Best Long Video, Juanes MTV Unplugged and Best Producer, Juanes MTV Unplugged, respectively, are set to donate all proceeds from their upcoming Nov. 24th concert at Barclays Center to the American Red Cross to assist families impacted by the storm. Univision Communications Inc, the leading media company serving Hispanic America with its New York area TV and radio stations – WXTV Univision 41, WFUT TeleFutura 68, WFTY TeleFutura 67, WXNY (96.3FM), WADO (1280 AM) and WQBU (the new Mami 92.7FM), as well as Univision Network; Telemundo 47, one of the area's most important media outlets for the fast growing Hispanic community of New York; and Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (SBS), New York stations WSKQ-FM “Mega 97.9FM” and WPAT-FM “93.1FM La Variedad de NY!” have joined efforts as media partners of the event.

The highly anticipated concert at Barclays Center, produced by CMN, will mark the first-ever Latin show at the new, state-of-the-art facility. Tickets to the concert can be purchased via http://www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 1-800-745-3000.
“Superstorm Sandy has devastated the lives of many people and we are eager to work with the Red Cross,” said Henry Cardenas, Chief Executive Officer/President of CMN and Co-founder of the Maestro Cares Foundation “We invite music goers and the community to support this cause and provide comfort to those who have lost so much.”
In response to Superstorm Sandy and the following Nor’easter, the American Red Cross is on the ground distributing relief supplies such as food, shelter, and comfort across all five New York boroughs and New Jersey. Red Cross client casework teams are meeting with individuals and families in shelters to help identify additional resources to help in their recovery process. To aid faster access to food, shelter and relief supplies, the Red Cross’s digital volunteers are playing a major role tweeting and updating the Disaster Online Newsroom with fixed feeding and bulk distribution sites.

To date, more than 9,000 Red Cross workers have been deployed from all 50 states to operations from North Carolina to Rhode Island, with the majority still in Greater New York and throughout New Jersey. 90% of these workers are volunteers.

Other donors have also stepped up. Goya, the presenting sponsor of the show, has donated 300,000 pounds of products and 25,000 meals to victims, while the Department of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, an inviting sponsor, is also providing support to those affected by Sandy. Artist sponsors MetroPCS and ZTE are set to donate ZTE Anthem 4G handsets and service to Sandy Relief efforts throughout the affected areas.
