Tom Barley, a spokesman for the gap insurance website http://www.car2cover.co.uk announced the launch of improved gap insurance terms and conditions to take effect from all policies purchased from 1st November 2012.

“We have been working with our underwriters to continually improve our product offering, particularly in the area of improving the customers financial position when their claim is calculated and paid” said Barley. It is claimed that the policies are now the best available in the UK.

The car2cover.co.uk spokesman was keen to point out “All insurances have terms and conditions and gap insurance is no different. We have worked tirelessly for 5 years to make these policy documents easy to understand and read and have also negotiated the removal of clauses that can impact financially on the policy holder”

The new policies have been improved in a number of ways including, no charge for policy amendments, free transfer of cover to the policyholders next vehicle, the cost of road fund licence is now covered and customers now have a 30 day 100% money back refund on cancellation. Thereafter polices can be cancelled and a pro-rata refund of premium refunded to the policy holder. “These improvements add to and embellish the improvements we made back in August 2011 and we are proud to be enthusiastically supporting the FSA’s Treating Customers Fairly requirements by removing potential areas of conflict” said Barley.

The new product improvement launch appears to coincide with the organisations launch of two new web sites, http://www.gapinsurancebroker.co.uk and http://www.tyre-insurance.com. When questioned if this is a co-incidence the spokesman confirmed “Yes it is. Our product improvement policy is an on-going activity and the launch of gapinsurancebroker is designed to provide customers with a different type of service with a wider choice of policies from a number of different gap insurance providers. Tyre-Insurance.com is simply a web site dedicated to our excellent tyre insurance product which we have been retailing on car2cover.co.uk for nearly 6 years”

Barley also suggested that an all new website for car2cover.co.uk is nearing completion and would provide the framework the business needs to increase the product range, simplify the customers buying experience and create a more efficient policy administration and delivery system to help the business cope with increased volumes.
