Ascom’s fully integrated solutions help our customers meet their corporate goals.

The contract encompasses the supply of an IP-DECT voice and messaging solution to their 450 stores throughout the UK. The fully integrated solution will be centrally managed from the HQ and incorporates voice, messaging, product removal and delivery management applications.
The retailer had been in talks with Ascom for a number of years, Ascom’s solution was chosen above competitors’ solutions as the best technical and integrated solution.
Ascom has designed a customised solution that allows the retailer to centralise their product removal process; a message is sent out from Head Office to their store managers alerting staff of which products need to be taken off their shelves immediately. The previous process relied on an email to be sent to the store manager’s computer which would be checked every 30 minutes. Ascom streamlined this process by sending the message directly to the store manager’s Ascom phone with ‘messaging by exception’ providing them with an option to acknowledge the message.
“We understand how important product removal messages are, speedy removals is a key health and safety issue. Ascom’s solutions provide retailers with a fast process to do this. All messages are centrally sent and receivers are asked to acknowledge these messages, allowing them to log and track those that are not, Ascom’s fully integrated solutions help our customers meet their corporate goals” says Robert Wood, Managing Director Ascom UK.
Ascom’s proposal went further and offered the retailer a way to create efficiency with their store deliveries by informing warehouse staff of imminent store delivery notifications. The solution integrates with the lorry’s GPS tracking system and automatically sends a message when the lorry is within a certain time away from the store. This allows the store to save time in making sure staff are at the right place at the right time; the knock-on effect is greater efficiency allowing the lorry to perform more deliveries per day.
Ascom understands the pressures retailers face in this competitive market, making processes as streamlined as possible is the key to their success. Ascom bridges this gap and integrates their solution in to existing infrastructures, enabling retailers to be more efficient.
