"The reason for us donating is not just to help local charities, but to provide dresses for the holiday season for people who can not afford them."

Peaches Boutique, local and online prom dress retail merchant, recently donated over 200 formal gowns to area Chicago charities.

During the holiday season, there are many different formal events for teenage girls to attend ranging from high school homecoming to formal holiday parties. Although these events happen annually, not every girl can afford such a lavish luxury as a formal gown.

Knowing that there are such girls out there that could potentially miss out on such an event due to financial issues, Peaches Boutique recently donated over 200 formal gowns to local Chicago charities.

"We donated about 200 dresses to the Braidwood and Catholic Charities in the area," said Jeff Surdej, Director of Operations at Peaches Boutique. "The reason for us donating is not just to help local charities, but to provide dresses for the holiday season to people who can not afford them."

Many charities accept formal gowns, tuxedos, shoes and accessories. Making a difference in someone's life can be very rewarding. To donate formal attire, visit a local dress donation facility. If there is not one available, contact Peaches Boutique or email donations(at)catholiccharities(dot)net.
